February 08, 2019MAxT Makerspace Received Donations from 100+ Women Who Care Monadnock to Create Scholarship Fund
At the January 25, 2019 meeting of the Monadnock chapter of 100+ Women Who Care, the membership selected MAxT Makerspace as the recipient of the meeting’s estimated collective donation of over $12,000. Funds received will be used to create a scholarship fund to subsidize the cost of enrollment in the American Welding Society's Certification Program. The AWS program is an intensive 130-hour training course that prepares graduating students to work in the highly compensated and in-demand welding profession anywhere in North American.
Eighteen non-profit organizations submitted applications to receive this quarter’s contributions. As part of the meeting, a random drawing chose MAxT Makerspace, Cathedral of the Pines and Monadnock Christian Ministry -Launch Point to make a 5-minute presentation followed by a period of Q&A. The majority of members present at the meeting voted to select MAxt Makerspace.
100+ Women Who Care Monadnock meets quarterly with the purpose of funding one area nonprofit organization at each meeting. Each member of 100+ Women Who Care Monadnock has pledged to donate a minimum of $50 quarterly to the charity chosen by the group. All charities and organizations up for consideration must serve residents in the Monadnock region, including the towns of Antrim, Bennington, Dublin, Francestown, Greenfield, Hancock, Harrisville, Jaffrey, Nelson, New Ipswich, Peterborough, Rindge, Sharon, and Temple. A national charity can be nominated, but only if the funds will be used to serve the immediate area.
100+ Women Who Care welcomes prospective members to attend their next meeting at the Peterborough Players in Peterborough on April 17th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.100womenwhocaremonadnock.com or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/100womenwhocaremonadnockContact:Eunice Jadlocki, Volunteer(908) 369-6554
